The Healing of our Nation

II Chronicles 7:14 tells us, "If My people, which are called by My name, shall humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways; then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and will heal their land".

That seems pretty clear. What we need is a personal relationship to God through His son Jesus in the power of the Holy Spirit … not religion! This would call for us to identify ourselves as a Christian nation (which many have denied and others tried to destroy), have a national day of repentance seeking the heart of God seeking His presence (face) and truly turning from our wicked ways (rejecting His Word for which we are now under judgment) … then He will hear (words and heart), forgive us and heal (restore) our land.

Only after this, can we apply the necessary physical skills to change things. The realm it will work is because God has forgiven and grants favor because of our obedience to Him.

Psalms 24:1-2 tells us that the earth is the Lord's and that He will have His way in spite of man's interference. It will probably happen that you question whether or not God has everything in control and it is going His way. When this happens examine yourselves and circumstances and draw close to Him in love and obedience. When you do God will show you He is in charge of your life. Even though world and national conditions are undesirable or even threatening, you will not be troubled and anxious … but you will definitely have opportunities to intercede.

2009 will produce some good days and some not so good days with ups and downs. The media will remain negative and speak fear as well as attempt to impart it. II Timothy 1:7 says God has not given us a spirit of fear but power, love and a sound mind, so do not listen to nor take to heart reports that are not Biblical.

Draw near to the Lord and rest in Him by reading the 91st Psalm daily and at the same time examine your commitment, faithfulness and walk. All around us, in our nation as well as the world, there will be upheaval of all kinds and works of the flesh, but don't fear; God is in charge and wants to heal us and our land if we will turn to Him. You know what it takes. Will you do it? That's something to think about!
