One Nation Under 'Siege'

Recently Gerald Davis, D. D. wrote about the USA being under siege and he is right. In the Torah there are stories told of conquest between Israel and other Arab nations. It was normal for armies to lay siege against a city to weaken it to compromise or surrender without physical battle. Khrushchev in the 60's said Russia would bury the USA without firing a shot. Davis maintains that with the losses from judges ruling we are sustained America is under siege from within! We are our own worst enemy and can't see it for our obsession with "rights", political correctness and phobias.

Area one of siege is terrorism. It functions under Islam and embraces the position that all who are not of their camp are infidel and must be either converted or annihilated. It is spirit motivated and against Christianity. Obama recently declared that America is no longer a Christian nation. If a wolf is in sheep's clothing he votes according to his appetite.

Area two of siege is liberalism. This term is used to describe those who oppose and resent teaching of Scripture and call believers Bible-thumpers and Jesus freaks. Major areas of opposition are sexual promiscuity, homosexuality, lesbianism, abortion and are without absolutes of conscience and do not want accountability, limitations or restrictions.

Area three of siege is atheist and agnostics. There is much ruling from judges who appose God and Biblical principles on which our nation was founded. The meaning of constitutional provisions as set in place by Founding Fathers are changed. Effort is being made to remove any reference to or influence of God in prayer, symbols and inclusion in life decisions. August 23, 1984, President Reagan said, "If we ever forget that we are one nation under God, and then we will be a nation gone under."

Area four of siege is environmental and conservationist. Both of these areas have become religions. Man was given dominion over the earth not put subject to it. Good stewardship is essential to include be self-sufficient and independent in production and use of resources. Dependence on others leads to compromise and defeat. Gas prices should cause serious decisions on praying concerning upcoming elections.

From a scriptural and spiritual standpoint these four areas are of the spirit of the anti-Christ with the goal of destroying Christian influence in America. They permeate the social, political, religious and educational areas of our society. People, especially those who consider themselves educated, informed and astute, are being manipulated, coerced and even threatened by those in authority to achieve the goal of a Godless society where man does what is right in his own eyes and calls evil good.

God's Word is all powerful as demonstrated by the fact that recently, the son of a Hamas leader converted to Christianity and is praying for his father to meet Jesus! Biblical prophecy is being fulfilled but we as Christian believers need to be bold and break the siege in the power of the Holy Spirit. That's something to think about!
