Adjust or Compromise?
By Jack Nester, Jr.

When our son was in college he had a roommate who had a "rigid schedule" and anything different seemed to throw him off track. One day he told our son, "you can adjust better than I can so why don't you change and let me do what I want and am used to? Does this sound familiar? It should because countless Christians and Americans (these are not necessarily the same) are expected to change, adjust to and accept sexual perversions and preferences, cultural practices and religious activities. If we don't then there is coercion, pressure through intimidation, threat, politics, legal action and financing ... wow! What it amounts to is, "Everything is fine as long as I get my way and you agree to it"!

America is a country of many subcultures and ethnic backgrounds that should be able to live in harmony yet an article in Newsweek recently entitled, "Learning to live with Radical Islam" implied that radical Islam was not necessarily terrorist but merely extreme. Islam, radical or not, has one goal to dominate the world either by conquest or forced conversion. The American public has been duped. Islam is violent. Yet appeasement is made by not even speaking "war or terror", "global insurgency" or "Muslim World because it is possibly offensive or incendiary. Countless leaders tremble, cow tow to and cringe at even the slightest idea of profiling, telling the truth or heaven forbid confronting elements that attempt to control and destroy America and the Christian faith on which it was founded.

Christians in the early centuries and in American history have definitely been radical (read Acts 17:6) resulting in beating torture, attempted genocide, imprisonment and martyrdom. Yet none of these attempted a cultural upheaval, mandated religious rituals or governmental enforcement (except in the middle ages). True Christianity is a powerful supernatural relationship with Jesus Christ and a society transforming faith that helps set people free not put them in bondage (Luke 4:18). This is why the Christian faith is opposed so greatly around the world.

The proposed solution was secular in giving time for people to "find themselves" and change values. Islam does not serve the same God Christians do even if they claim Abraham. There is indeed a clash of religious ideologies and it is time for Christians to rise up and be radical as in the first century.

Otherwise we will be a Muslim nation because our leaders certainly aren't doing anything except embracing socialism. While everyone in this nation might not be or want to be Christian. The Christian faith and values are what this nation was built upon without them we will fall there is no need to adjust to unnecessary and irrational demands which is the first step to compromise. That's something to think about.
