RESTORING AMERICA

Recently I went to a townhall meeting because, as a pastor, I encouraged the people to participate and encourage Christian values on which our nations was built. People cam to be heard because of concerns and fears. It appeared to me to be more "venting" (which is okay to release in an intense, heartfelt manner) than solutions. Naturally people addressed issues that affected their lives and rightly so...but few of the root causes were addressed (i.e. government leadership, limits of power, accountability of leaders to those who elected them and a clear unity in the direction we need to go).

It seems people have given up common sense, unity of Christian principles, a willingness to sacrifice for our nation and instead replaced it with selfishness, greed and humanism. The result is a nation without an anchor and one government control in every aspect of our lives. I am a Christian first (with Scripture being the final authority which all things are judged) and an American second. As a Vietnam Veteran I am ashamed of what America has become. Even with the flaws it is still the best nation in the world but will not be unless the country is run by people (either Republican or Democrat) who truly fear God, obey His Word and not apologize for Christian values and a personal relationship with Jesus.

A person's faith (some say "religion") or lack of it determine actions, attitudes, relationships and how we live life. This is true regardless of the "religious title you carry". It also affects policy as determined by those in leadership. We now have people appointed or who are associated with ACORN, La Raza, and Planned Parenthood to name a few. (Using Planned Parenthood as an example...if you study it is little more than an expedient to eliminate undesirables regardless of race all in the name of "rights". If you truly believe in sanctity of life why not oppose abortion and cut the funding. 48 million babies have been murdered since Rowe vs Wade and taxpayers are paying for it! (Go to Planned Parenthood sponsored website, "take care down there" and see the "soft porn and rebellion" your taxes pay for Cutting the funding by taxpayer dollars is one way to show Christian values.

How is it that a president was elected without verifying he is actually eligible to be president? What has been done to require that he produce an authentic birth certificate? What about other documents such as college grants, draft registration, passports and association with known terrorist from being made public? Apparently he has spent quite a sum to keep it from happening. In the real world where the rest of us live, he couldn't even get a driver's license, social security card or qualify for the minimum security clearance...yet he has access to the most sensitive documents in our nation.

His actions speak volumes by those he appoints, his attitude toward America by telling the world America is responsible for the world's ills -articulating with seeming delight- that America is not longer Christian and his willingness to bow to the Muslim world's demands and desires border on treason and most certainly are suspect. Not to mention bowing to a Saudi King which is despicable and most certainly degrading, as well as unbecoming, demeaning to the office and an insult to every person who has been in the military.

It is a "crime" when 535 people (Congress, Senate, Supreme Court and President) can control 300+ million people with apparent disregard for what they want. The problem is not just those past leaders but those who lead now. As a general rule, the leaders manage to get what they want. So, it seems the problem exists because those in leadership either like what is happening, are unaffected personally or are in a minority and got out voted. The constitution calls for life, liberty and pursuit of happiness not a guarantee of it. So "bailouts" knowing that the government is not intended to run everything or provide it? Indebtedness means control God gives principles of finance to get out of deb so you can serve Him better.

We ought to be able to do what our ancestors did which is to have unity by following the Christian principles and teachings of Jesus and doing what it says in II Chronicles 7:14...then God will hear and heal our land. No person or nation has been worse off for following Jesus even if they do not accept Him as Lord. It is time for Christians (pastors lead them Biblically) to stand up for the Word and oppose what is not right. Encourage others in our nation to follow also and God will heal and use a once great nation!
